November, 2024 – Kanpur, The city has nearly seven lakh devotees from Bihar and Purvanchal. Thirty thousand platforms have been set up at the ghats. The Chhath Puja ghats are illuminated with colorful lights, creating a dazzling sight.
The ghats are ready for the Chhath festival. The work of setting up barricades along with decorations is almost complete. On Thursday evening, devotees observing the fast will offer Arghya to the setting sun at the clean and well-maintained city ghats. Police, administration, and municipal corporation officials are working to ensure proper arrangements at the ghat of Panki Nahar.
The city has around seven lakh people from Bihar and Purvanchal. Of these, about 30,000 people have set up platforms at various ghats. This means nearly five lakh people will visit the ghats to perform rituals and offer Arghya to the sun. The administration is busy making all the necessary preparations, working day and night. After the cleaning of ghats at Panki, Armapur, CTI, Barra, Sachan Guest House, Gojaini, and others, colorful lights have started shining. Additionally, streetlights have been increased. As evening falls, the ghats will be illuminated with vibrant lights.
